Key evets for the day ahead - Rabobank

FXStreet (Guatemala) - Analysts at Rabobank explained the key events ahead today.

Key Quotes:

"Today only has US data to look at, with PPI up first. Consensus is 0.1% MoM headline and the same core, which will equal -0.8% and 0.8% YoY, respectively (i.e., no pipeline inflation pressures)."

"We then get weekly initial jobless claims, which for the last two weeks have been hovering around 15-year lows (which is obviously why no-one wants to go shopping?)."

"From Europe we will be looking for more news on Greece (which slipped back into recession in Q1). Yesterday saw suggestions we might get an “in/out” referendum to settle matters, though how this can be organized before payment deadlines are hit is a key question. Meanwhile, we will have Draghi’s annual lecture at the IMF in Washington. It’s not clear what direct market relevance it will have; but the Fund, which never allows its bailout victims recipients to use QE as a policy response (in fact, very much the opposite) might pay some attention if he sounds necessarily upbeat."
