White House: China trade talks to resume in Washington next week - RTRS
China's top economic adviser will be visiting Washington next week to resume trade talks with the Trump administration, the White House said on Monday.
“China’s top economic adviser, the vice premier (Liu He), will be coming here next week to continue the discussions with the president’s economic team,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told reporters at a regular news briefing.
“We are working on something that we think will be great for everybody,” she added, albeit provided no further details on arrangements for the talks.
Last week, a seven-member US delegation led by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin demanded China to slash its trade surplus with the US by $200 billion. The two-sides, however, failed to reach any consensus but agreed to continue the trade talks.
